Yes, if the work involves removing or altering a load-bearing wall, installing an RSJ, or forming a new structural opening, Building Regulations approval is required. We manage this process on your behalf, including engaging a structural engineer where needed. Non-load-bearing partitions are generally exempt.
How do you diagnose the cause of damp?
We carry out a proper survey before recommending any treatment. The three main types — rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation — have different causes and different fixes. Treating the wrong type wastes money and leaves the underlying problem untouched. We’ll be upfront about what we find.
Can you handle a partial refurbishment, or do you only take on full projects?
Both. We’re comfortable with large full-house refurbishments and with targeted single-room works. If the scope is clearly defined and the access is good, the size of the project doesn’t limit what we can help with.
